We built SightSync because the phone call problem needed solving.

Millions of UK patients are overdue for an eye examination — not because they don't care, but because no one called. SightSync exists to close that gap.

Optical practices are exceptional at clinical care. They are far less equipped for the administrative labour of chasing lapsed patients — contacting hundreds of people who haven't been in for two years, leaving voicemails, following up, booking appointments. Doing this properly requires significant staff time, and most practices don't have it.

The consequences are real. For standard patients, a missed eye test means a missed spectacle prescription update. For diabetic patients or glaucoma suspects, it can mean missing early signs of serious, preventable vision loss. The GOC places a duty of care on registrants to recall these patients. The challenge has always been doing it at scale.

SightSync automates the outreach — not with robocalls, but with conversational AI that identifies itself as automated, explains the clinical reason for the call, handles questions naturally, and books appointments in real time. If a patient doesn't answer, a WhatsApp message and email follow automatically. 24–48 hours before each appointment, a confirmation call goes out to reduce no-shows. Patients who don't want to be contacted can opt out instantly through any channel. The practice gets a full audit trail of everything.

We built SightSync to work within the regulatory framework that governs UK optical practice: PECR, UK GDPR, and GOC Standards of Practice. Compliance is built into the product, not bolted on as an afterthought.

How we approach the product

Transparency first

Every call opens with the AI identifying itself as automated. We think patients deserve to know when they're speaking with AI, and we think practices that are upfront about it build more trust, not less.

No override of opt-out

When a patient says they don't want to be called, that is permanent. We don't provide a mechanism to override it. Opted-out patients are excluded from all future campaigns, full stop.

Clinical purpose, not sales pressure

Scripts are designed to be brief, warm, and clinically purposeful. We don't use urgency tactics or create false scarcity. The AI makes a clear clinical case and lets the patient decide.

Audit everything

Every interaction is logged with a full transcript and outcome. Not just for compliance — but because practices should be able to review what their patients experienced.
